The best laid plans…

It’s certainly been an interesting year for us all! Our summer has not ended up quite how we envisaged. I had planned to exhibit in a small gallery in Uzès , Provence, for the two months of July and August, followed by an exhibition at Scampston Walled Garden, North Yorkshire – all of which, for obvious reasons have had to be cancelled.

That said, I may have been a little over-ambitious, and there was a small amount of relief when everything fell through! We had a baby girl on the 8th April in the middle of the lockdown. I had been thinking that maternity leave would give me ample time to paint. How naïve I was! She’s now five months old and I am still working on a very large canvas which I started when I was still pregnant… It stands on an easel in my kitchen as a large and obstructive reminder that if I get a spare moment I really should get my paints out and finish it!

Whilst the painting and exhibiting may have been hampered by the global pandemic and the addition of a little one to our household, it’s thankfully given me a little time to work on a new website.

So here it is – there’s more tweaking to be done (as I continue to get to grips with WordPress!) and hopefully it won’t be too long until I can update it with some events for next year. Please do get in touch if you have any feedback.
